Blood Bloom

The Blood Blooms aren't one of the most plentiful monsters of the forest, but they are one of the more vicious ones. They tend to be loners, even fighting others of their kind, or other species entirely, over territory. They'll only be seen in a pair if they're mates. Their bodies resemble a lizard, or perhaps a dragon, with some unusual qualities like their ape-like front arms and the parasitic flowers over their backs. They stand at around 8 feet tall with its head and neck raised straight up. This height varies a lot while the creature moves, but it generally keeps an imposing manner about it, despite the parasitic flowers growing throughout its body. The flowers themselves, feasting on blood instead of water, tend to have very dulled shades of color, very rarely looking as vibrant as a proper flower.

Strengths:
- Blooms are extremely powerful, this being their main advantage. Their front arms are a particular worry, as it could not only leave some deep cuts, but could crush someone's bones if a Bloom trapped them on the ground. Its fangs are another main attack form for it, especially when it's stationary and doesn't have the time to swing its claws. It's a faster attack than its claw swings, but has a shorter range.
- The vine "whiskers" on the sides of their face are surprisingly strong, even able to choke someone if they get around the person's neck. They aren't very easy to rip out, but they are flammable, and can be cut off.
- They can rise up on their back legs into a standing-like pose. This not only makes it tall and more imposing, but gives it a large range to swipe its claws, or to give it a chance to stomp down on a victim.
- Their four eyes work in pairs on either side of the head. Because of this, they can only be blinded if both eyes on one side are destroyed, or if all four eyes are destroyed. Simply attacking one eye will just leave the other to take over for its vision.
- The horns, spikes and underbelly are more damage resistant than the rest of its skin. The rest of the skin is a generally tough hide, but nothing that a bullet or good blade won't pierce.
- The parasitic flowers actually help Blooms by releasing paralyzing spores in the area around it. These spores easily surround the creature in about a 6-foot radius. It's extremely fast acting, freezing up the nervous system and stopping all movement. A sudden shock will bring a person out of the paralysis, such as witnessing something traumatic or being struck by an attack.

Weaknesses:
- Its claw attacks aren't as fast as the bites, because of the size of the arms and weight of the claws. There is usually a chance to dodge its swipes if the monster is watched carefully.
- Due to their large front, they're very bad at turning from a stationary position. However, their necks do have a small amount a reach. When charging, they also can't turn very sharply or risk tripping over themselves. They will generally only charge straight, or in a wide enough arc to keep them from falling. Their best movement is during a walk or trot.
- The flowers on their back are flammable, and losing them brings a lot of pain, but doesn't kill them, and may send them into a blind rage. Their actual skin is rather resistant to flames. Their rage is also a double-edged sword, because they will become far more hostile and wild, but will no longer focus on thinking and protecting themselves.
- Their tails are the weakest limb on the body, only able to shove someone away rather than fling them into the air or anything extreme. The tail might hurt a little if it hits someone, but it's easily cleaved off by a large enough blade.
- Its back, where the flowers are, is left softer and hollowed out by the parasitic vines digging through its skin and flesh there in massive quantities.

Extra:
- When it runs or charges, it does so by digging its claws into the ground and throwing itself forward. This allows them to move forward quite fast, and will probably hurt pretty badly if they slam into someone.
- Blooms can climb just a little. They're very clumsy at it, and their size works against them by slowing them down and making it take a lot of effort. Its only by digging in their claws that they can manage to climb at all. They will only be able to climb well-built structures or trees with large enough trunks to support them.

((I'm sorry I'm so overly detailed with Bloom, here. xD;))
