Bark Spider
While not one of the most dangerous thing in Burglinde Forest, The Bark Spider can still prove troublesome for the unwary folks who venture into the forest. Armed with the capability of spinning rather sturdy webs, a frame that resembles that of a full grown cat and a slow acting paralytic poison that can render a target unconscious for anywhere up to an hour, the Bark Spider, despite being one of the smaller creatures in Burglinde, is still a force to be reckoned with.
Strengths:
- Capable of spinning a rather durable and sturdy web that is capable of ensnaring anyone or anything that accidently wanders into it, the web's durability rivalling wire rope in terms of strength.
- Capable of secreting a paralytic from its stinger that is capable of rendering a target unconscious for just under an hour. This allows the spider ample time to capture its prey
-The bark spiders body is covered in a strange material that looks like tree bark, allowing it to blend in to the undergrowth and what have you with relative ease
Weaknesses:
-When it begins to move, the Bark spider has a tendency to let out a series of clicks upon spotting its prey when it's not on its web, allowing said prey a chance to run if they hear said clicks.
-Quite slow, the Bark Spider tends to rely on surprise attacks when dealing with prey not caught in its web, it's large frame not allowing it to give chase after a target if it should run
- The bark spiders legs are quite weak in comparison to the rest of their body. If a person was to apply enough force, they could easily break the spiders leg if they wished
Appearance:
The bark spider's body is about the size of a full grown cat or small dog, with its legs being a bit bigger as a result. The Bark spiders body is also covered in a strange material not to dissimilar to tree bark which gives it camouflage capabilities, hence it's name.
Extra:
Some Bark spiders, in rare cases, have shown signs of growing some manner of flora on their abdomen, with most thinking this to be a sign of evolution in the species
