Getting pissed 7-15-11 (Lugh, Azar, Aemilio, and maybe Keo?)

Still a little disappointed, Aemilio nodded in admitting it would be best if Azar and Lugh would stay sober enough to walk. He still longed for the both of them, drunk beyong their wits as a kind of entertainement, but at the moment it seemed as much out of reach as it was inconvinient; a drunk Azar might just blab out things that needn't be mentioned around Keoki.
Lugh's comment annoyed him a lot actually, but not enough to engage in a pointless and probably boring argument.

When Keoki asked if it was his drink Aemilio frowned, and hessitatingly took the glass, held it close to his face and sniffed the scent. There was clearly acohol in it - despite his lack of drinking habits, he knew how to recognise some things quite well - and strong stuff too.
As he put it down his eyes went over the three he was with, a little suspiciously as he asked: "none of you ordered this?"

Then moving on from the subject: "so what are we going to do now? Or are we going to sit here and guess what species Azar is? Because..." He grinned a little darkly, looked away in a purposely unbelievable innocent way and fakely casually finished, "I think I might have an idea..."

Keoki hadn't really been paying attention to what Lugh was writing, but when he talked about the Lights, it sparked her interest, if only because of her interest in ghosts. "It sounds similar to a Will-o-the-Wisp. Though they usually look more like lantern lights than animals, but they are prominent in swamp areas like the forest and like to trick people into getting lost," she said, partially thinking aloud to see if that idea actually fit or not. Still, maybe she could ask Lugh more about it later.

When Aemilio again asked about the drink, she just shook her head. Keo hadn't ordered anything else yet. But he changed subjects, and to something she wasn't exactly comfortable with. If Azar wasn't human, she wasn't exactly going to dig into it and ask, since her lack of shock over any possible revelation would just make her look suspicious herself. She'd been introduced to a few other inhumans over the years, and they were especially prominent when it came to city night-life.

She wasn't really sure changing the subject to leaving would look great either, or maybe she was just being paranoid now. Either way, she stayed quiet and just waited to see what the others would say, and maybe someone would suggestion heading home.

"Mythology is my area of expertise; I've spent longer than you can imagine studying different mythological creatures and characters. Looking at how they play off each other, how their interconnected, and how seemingly similar myths differentiate." Lugh said looking up from the piece of paper. He ordered a scotch and placed it in front of Azar, "Seeing as there's no victor." he explained picking up the one he had ordered when they first arrived, drinking it at a more reasonable pace than he had the rest of the evening.
"No the Lights apparently act like real animals, fleeing at the sight of humans, rummaging through trash. Wisps acting rather more like false yet alluring guides, somewhat more dangerous, though some legends describing that wisps could be controlled." Lugh replied to Keoki.
"I the case that Azar isn't something human, and you know it means either you spied on her or she confided in you. And I've never yet heard a story where a human spreading such knowledge, once discovered, ended well. The faeries in Ireland for example enslaved those that betrayed their trust. In other words if you know Azar's not human, keeping quiet might help in extending your lifespan." Lugh warned Aemilio not expecting him to heed it though. Not every race wanted to be known to humanity at large, and many where willing to do unspeakable acts to remain hidden.

Oh no he didn't!
As Aemilio said that he had an idea about what she was Azar glared at him a glare so cold that it could almost freeze hell. Bfore she could really say anything though Lugh already answered Keoki's comment about Will-o-the-Wips, which she didn't care much about.
But she got problem keeping herself from asking him if he knew anything about firedemons, preferably what there full capabilities where and where they roam. But the scotch being placed in front of her was a good distraction and a nice gesture. "Thanks," she said taking a sip from her glass, not planning on downing it as fast as her previous drinks. A very amused smile came to her face and a small chuckle escaped her when he told Aemilio to keep quiet about what she was. It was nice that someone stood up for her on that subject, even though she didn't know the reason behind it.

Aemilio pulled an irritated face at Lugh's warning, mainly at the suggestion he'd been spying on her. His automatic reaction would've been to argue this but then he remembered how he learned about Azar's true nature and decided - after a short look at Keoki - this would be a bad time to bring that specific night up. So instead he just shrugged at Lugh in a careless (and slightly haughty) manner and replied: "ah well, my hands are tied then... I guess you're on your own in unravelling the secret then."
The way he talked about the whole thing left it unsure if he really knew or if he still thought this was all nonesense and he was just going along with it through a sarcastic bluff.

Azar's cold look made him regret ever bringing it up though, even if he could still play it off as a silly bluff - what if she'd tell on him now? Just ticking her off for that one moment wasn't worth that...! With a miniature sigh he told himself he should've known better than to challange a battle-axe like her after she'd been drinking. Hopefully she would let it go now...?
He raised an innocent brow back at her, hoping she'd figure he (truthfully) never intended to tell.
Now he felt a little on edge and let his eyes search around for some distraction. He returned to the mystery drink. A little desperate for better ideas he picked it up and took a small zip. At that he winched and put it back down again; "this is a little stronger than a normal coke...!" and he shoved it a couple centimetres away.

"Hm, that's odd, haven't heard of something like that before," she replied when Lugh explained how the lights were so animal-like. It also made her question if they were more of a ghost or a monster. But she didn't get much of a chance to ask anymore before Lugh made his point about how spreading word of other races tended to end badly. It certainly wasn't reassuring for her. Werewolves, by now, had been turned into more of some silly movie monster than a myth for most people, and that alone made it hard for her to admit she was one. But if Aemilio was already joking, or at least she hoped it was a joke, about spreading information like that, she was even less sure what he'd do if she told him.

At least he quit with it now, and she moved back to the forest subject, asking Lugh, "Do you think there really is anything in the forest?" Keoki was still perfectly set on exploring it sooner or later, so it couldn't hurt to see what the myth expert thought. She looked back to Aemilio when she heard him push the glass away and complain about the drink. She wasn't too sure if he should just drink something when he didn't know who ordered it, but that was up to him, so she didn't say anything.

"Oh most defiantly, malevolent, cunning, ancient and very able to keep itself hidden to boot." Lugh replied like Keo, he once had the scars to prove it, but those had long since disapeared. He was greatly intrigued by what lay at the heart of the forest, he had never gone in more than a kilometre, after that the forest tended to become more aggressive than normal. Still something gnawed at him to find out what lay within. "Not that all of it's dangerous, the village wouldn't have survived this long if it was." that to Lugh was the most curious part the village was safe for the most part, so whatever lay in the forest had to come later or so he figured, considering Keoki's curiosity he wondered if she too would notice this.

Azar relaxed a little when Aemilio said that his hands where tied about revieling what she was and there by leaving it up to Lugh himself to figure it out, if he wanted to. It amused her when Aemilio actually drunk from the coke, even if only one mouthfull, who knew it might be enough to get him buzzed or even near drunk. She didn't care for the underlying motive of that action just for the possible results it could have.
Her amusement got cut short though when Lugh said he was confinced that there was something very dark within the forest surrounding them. Of course she had heard the local tales about it, but despite being a mythical creature herself she didn't think too much about it.
"Did you saw or came across something during your previous visit here then?" she asked him, actually curious to his answer. She wasn't planning on going into the forest because of the swamps it hid, not feeling much like accidently walking into a pool of water and getting a severe allergic reaction.

Blinking as the alcohol slowly made it's impact (one mouthful of vodka cola is comparible to about a full glass to a normal person in one zip) Aemilio got a little distracted from the conversation for a moment; which wasn't much of an inconvienence as his only contribution would be a sarcastic comment on the forest creature.

((yes, despite knowing Azar is a mythical creature, Aemilio doesn't believe in the forest thing in the least - I suspect he's in denial. Anyway, that was my post... next))

"Well let me put it like this anytime I tried to go a sufficient distance into the forest, something would attack me, or chase me off. Whatever is in the forest doesn't want to be found and I dare say it wants its forest back." Lugh said mentally recounting the many times the forest nearly got the better of him, the only reason he was still alive was luck "Last time it was a tree." he rubbed his head at the memory.

Maybe it wasn't appropriate, but Keo had a bit of a grin after Lugh's comment on the forest, and like Azar, she wanted to hear if there was some story behind why he'd said that. It was interesting to think that the forest might be more dangerous than she first thought, but that just meant she'd have to be more careful. And then he mentioned a tree. While Keoki would have found that a little funny, she then remembered Creed mentioning how a plant tried to kill his sister. "Well, not exactly a friendly place, is it?"

Glancing back to Aemilio, he didn't seem to be doing too well, even from just a sip. Must have been something decently strong, but at least he only took one sip. "Maybe we should head back soon," she suggested, figuring there wasn't much to do anyway. The drinking was over, and they could talk about the forest any time.

"You have been attacked by a tree?" Azar asked Lugh not sure if he just making fun of her or if he was telling the truth. How could someone be attacked by a tree? What did he do so deep into the forest that he got attacked or chased off, and what did he mean with that it wants it's forest back.
"Okay why do you keep going so deep into the forest?" she asked, uncapable of coming up with a reason herself, well other then trying to find out what was in the forest but that sounded like a suicide run.

Aemilio was also a little confused by the idea of a tree-offense; what could a tree possibly do? There also was a big question mark at the plan of going deeper into the forest if it supposibly was a dangerous place with violent flora and fauna. He nodded at what Keoki said - going back seemed pretty atractive to him right now.
"Sure, I'm up for heading back," he said with a smile at her. Next he wanted to say some more but realised it might be best not to...

"Well there is something compelling about the forbidden." Lugh chuckled, though other than simple curiosity, the forest was the easiest place for him to obtain sustenance. "Aye why not, it'll get too dark to be safe soon." he muttered getting up and immediately over balancing, Lugh chuckled as he righted himself. "Should have seen that coming."

"Heh, true enough," Keoki replied, agreeing with Lugh. But enough talk of that for now, she stood up, but saw Lugh stumble a bit. "You alright, there?" she asked after a quiet laugh. Actually, it was surprising he still had the sense to catch himself after a drinking contest. At least he seemed like he'd be able to walk home. Hopefully Azar and Aemilio would be fine to walk too, since she didn't really like dealing with drunks too much. Sure, she liked to drink, but her intention wasn't usually to get wasted and have to deal with a hangover all morning.

Uncapable of disagreeing with Lugh's answer, even she wasn't that good of a liar, Azar simply nodded in understanding. When both Lugh and Keoki stood up to leave and Aemilio also having agreed to leaving she stood up a little reluctantly as well. She didn't feel much like leaving already but she felt even less like staying behind alone. Unlike Lugh she didn't stumble as she stood up, but that only came forth from her slow, gracefull, rise out of her stool, giving her enough time to not over or under balance herself.

Aemilio got up as well, his motoric skills unaffected by the small amount of alcohol he'd consumed just now (admittedly, this was too little alcohol to have any noticble effects). He was a little disappointed at how the night had ended, mainly because he'd imagined it in a completely different way, but agreed it might be good to leave at this stage.
So he left his nearly untouched drink behind and followed the rest, tilting his head slightly amused when a little bit of his expectations came true, as far as Lugh was waggling just a little. Azar still seemed perfectly balanced but ever so slightly to careful in her moving about, causing him to suspect she was suffering from just about the same condition as Lugh.
